We are proud to share that from Tuesday 1st July, Australian Lions Hearing Dogs will be known as Lions Assistance Dogs.
Over the past 12 months, many conversations have taken place both internally and with a wide variety of our stakeholders about the ongoing growth and development of Australian Lions Hearing Dogs as an organisation. These conversations have centred on our identity — our volunteers, our staff, our donors, our supporters, and most importantly, the recipients of the life-changing Assistance Dogs we provide.
With the scope of our services growing exponentially over the last five years, and with our future plans for continued growth and expansion, we are thrilled to unveil our new name: Lions Assistance Dogs.
This new name reflects the full breadth of Assistance Dog services we can — and will continue to — provide. At Lions Assistance Dogs, we proudly provide not only Hearing Assistance Dogs, but also Medical Assistance Dogs and, more recently, Psychiatric Assistance Dogs. Our roots in the Hearing Assistance Dog program are what we owe our strong foundation and much of our ongoing success — but we’re excited to grow alongside the community we serve. While our name evolves, rest assured that our services remain the same. Our team is as passionate as ever, our dogs continue to be trained to the highest standard, and our mission to aid and empower people with a range of health conditions is as strong as ever. Meet our team here.
The new brand will look very much the same! In reviewing our identity, we still align strongly with the visual representation of our logo — the loyal Assistance Dog with its paw raised, always ready to help. We’ve made some small tweaks, including a slight update to the colours and a new typeface for our name — but at the heart of everything we do, our values remain centred at our core services to the community.
