LIONS ASSISTANCE DOGS

With over 40 years of experience training Assistance Dogs, we use our expertise to train highly-skilled dogs for a range of services.

Hearing Assistance Dogs – Providing Assistance Dogs to people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. This was the first program established back in 1980, and with over 700 Hearing Dog partnerships created so far, we continue to develop our program to provide a professional and personalised service to all recipients. Medical Assistance Dogs – Providing Assistance Dogs to people with health conditions and chronic illnesses. The first Medical Assistance Dog program developed is Diabetic Alert Dogs for people living with type 1 diabetes. Unlike other providers, a Lions Diabetic Alert Dog is provided at no cost to the recipient; making this an affordable and accessible option for people living with diabetes. Psychiatric Assistance Dogs – Our newest program, working as a provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs, has been developed to support Veterans of the Australian Defence Force with a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
